Windows 10: Files not open once saved in 365

I recently updated my pc to a laptop and now using 365. I saved all previous office documents on I think Office 2017 which open OK and allow editing on 365, however once I save the file in 365 it wont open again and say contains unreadable content or file extension not valid

So far I can open files from the Recent files list when I enter Word itself, however I still am unable to open any documents using the Word icon pinned to the taskbar:

Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise - Date Modified is displaying date and time the file was opened instead of when the file was last saved

Hi,

I have recently noticed an issue with the Date Modified data. I am using Excel and Word 365 in Windows 10.

Steps Taken:

1. Launch Excel 365.

2. Click on OPEN.

3. Review the list of files displayed under Recent.

Expected Results:

The file I was working on at the end of the day is displayed at the top of the list with a last modified date and time of at 23/03/2023 17:46 (this is when the file was last saved).

Actual Results:

The file has a last modified date of 23/03/2023 15:58.

When I open the file the date modified updates to the current date and time even though the file has not been saved i.e. the date and time the file was ACCESSED.

Account: displays Version 2302 (Build 16130.20306)

About Excel: displays Version 2302 (Build 16.0.16130.20298) 64 bit.

This has nothing to do with the Regional Settings.

I have cleared the Windows Explorer privacy cache.

 

Unable to open office 2007 files in office 365

Had Office 2007 which I have now uninstalled and installed Microsoft 365. I now am unable to open Word and Excel files created with Office 2007 in Microsoft 365. I have saved the files again to .docx and .xlsx but still will not open in 365.

Any suggestions?
