Windows 10: File Icons Not Showing

A month or two ago, I turned on my PC and all of a sudden I had no file icons anymore. Since then, I've tried every fix I can find. Selecting "Always show thumbnails" in settings, clearing the cache, updating drivers. Nothing is working and I cannot find someone else with the same issue as me. Also, when I right click on my Desktop, select View, "Show Desktop Icons" is selected. Futher, the icons are displayed for only 10% of my apps. For example, the icon for File Explorer or Google Chrome won't show, but the icon for Spotify or Copilot does. Even when I go to File Explorer, the list on the l

The concern you have encountered with system icons may be due to a corrupted file or a misconfigured setting. In this case, we suggest that you go through the taskbar settings by simply followwing the steps below and see if it helps.

• Right-click on an empty space in your desktop taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
• Click Turn system icons on or off.
• If you'd like to always show all icons, turn the slider window to On.
• Reboot the PC for the changes to take effect.

If the solution did not work, we suggest running System file check. By doing so, the task will scan for changed or misplaced files. If sfc discovers that a protected file has been overwritten or corrupted, it retrieves the correct version of the file folder,

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

 

Cannot find Desktop Icon in File Explorer

My Desktop is showing icons as normal. But if I try to find what is on my desktop by using file manager, I cannot find the icon. I also checked under C;\user my name, public, default and no desktop listed on any of them. Any suggestions?
