Windows 10: File explorer search not finding files, Windows 11, ASUS laptop

Hi!I'd appreciate advice on the below,I recently bought a new laptop and it came with Windows 11 Home installed.I've come across with a problem I didn't have with my previous laptop that ran on Windows 10.When I try to find files in a folder that has a long path to be reached for example I need to go through 7 sub folders to get where the file is finder doesn't pick up any file whether word, pdf, etc when I try to search from the main folder containing the rest of the sub folders.This is not only very frustrating but also dangerous as the search is a search for legal documents that must be

File Explorer Search Not Working


I am trying to search in File Explorer (Windows Explorer, My Computer) and it will not find anything. I can copy text from a name in the list and paste it in the search box and it still finds nothing. I have looked at the suggestions that have been posted and nothing I find that is relative to this works. Anyone have any suggestions? I am running Win 10 Pro on an I3 coustom desktop computer.

 

Some files listed in Windows Explorer are blue font

I seem to have run out of room on a Windows XP Pro system. I tried to defrag but don't have but 7% room available. I looked in Windows Explorer to try to find some huge files that might be corrupt and I see a few that are listed in blue. What does that mean? I have not compressed anything on purpose. Thanks

 

Windows Explorer not searching docx file contents

Hi all,

Recently Windows Explorer stopped finding .docx files when I search for a specific word. I know that these files contain the words that I am searching for, and I have tried lots of things:

• "Search in file contents" is enabled
  
• .docx files are set to have names and contents indexed
  
• I've tried rebuilding the index
  
• I tested the search on other file types, and it returns results for seemingly everything except .docx files
  
• I tried upgrading to Windows 11 to see if this would fix the issue, but it did not
  

I would really appreciate any suggestions, as being able to search file contents is very important for my studies.
