Windows 10: Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2 FREEZES at 48%

Hello everyone, I have been trying for months now to make the Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2. I have tried all the fixes/methods mentioned here on the forums and in many other articles too, hoping to successfully get the update, however nothings worked out eventually. It always freezes/gets stuck at 48%. I feel kind of reaching a dead end here! I am sharing the log file of the windows update. Windows 10 Pro 1909 upgrade to 2004 or 20H2 freezes at 48% 0xC1900101

Hi,

I am a new member and have signed up as I am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out for the past few months.

I currently have Windows 10 Pro 1909 installed and Windows update has tried to install Windows 2004, however whilst installing on reboot it freezes at 48%. I have also tried previously to install 2004 with an ISO mounted and USB however with no luck.

Also I have tried installing Windows 20H2 both with ISO and with USB and again it just fails and freezes at 48%.

I have attached the error message I receive i have to force shutdown (once it freezes) and it rolls back any changes.

Please can anyone help

 

Update History is not showing v.20H2

This is normal behavior in Windows 10, typically when you install a Feature Update like 20h2, the update history is wiped, this is to prevent the user from trying to uninstall an update that was prior to the Feature Update, which would de-stabilize Windows
10, the list should start building again, when some updates are applied to version 20h2 . . .

If you download version 2004 and install it directly while in 20H2, It will remove everything on your system.

To avoid that, Please try the method below.

Press Windows key+I to open Settings > Update and Security

Select View Update History > Click Uninstall Updates

Select “Feature update to Windows 10 20H2 via enablement package” right-click it and choose to uninstall.
