Windows 10: Explorer not showing previews of any files PDF, DOC, XLS, txt Except images: JPG/PNG/etc.

NOTE: Please do not respond with the usual steps, all have already been taken. Explorer Preview Pane is not showing previews of any files PDF, DOC, XLS, txt Except JPG and PNG. It does show thumbnails correctly with the first page for all file types when in icon view. I use Adobe Acrobat 10 on Windows 10 with Office 2021 with a single monitor. Since it affects all file except images, I do not believe additional steps with Adobe will be successful. It has been happening for about at least a year. The problem has persisted through an Office Upgrade. I have troubleshot extensively and seek s

File Explorer not previewing .docx files or .xlsx will preview txt pdf

OK, tried all of the above (cache to 1GB, winword /r, etc). Still have the problem with File (not internet) Explorer. Getting a new wrinkle now. After doing winword.exe /r, I got this





It suggests saving Normal.dotm to the Documents folder but it won't let me do that either. I just keep getting the "We can't save this..." box no matter where I try to save it.

It seems like Word is completely screwed up and now I don't know if my Preview problem is Win10 related or Word 365/Office related.

My head hurts.

File Explorer - Some PDF's show thumbnail image, some don’t

In Windows 10 File Explorer, I see thumbnails for a few of my pdf files but still see the generic Adobe pdf icon for most of them.

• In Windows 10 folder options, the checkbox for “Always show icons, never thumbnails” is unchecked.
• On the Adobe Reader preferences general tab, “Enable PDF thumbnails previews in Windows Explorer” is checked.
• Adobe Acrobat is set as my default PDF viewer.
• I have used Disk Cleanup to delete all my thumbnails to clear and rebuild the cache, yet the problem persists.

Any suggestions on how I can see all the pdf icons as thumbnails?

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (20.006.20034)
