Windows 10: Everything resets EVERYTIME I restart!

Hey all, So the issue is, that one day out of nowhere, without warning, all my settings were wiped out and somehow defaulted to the standard Microsoft build. So that sucked, but all in all it only affected the way the computer looked, didn't really care for it. However, today, when I logged on, the screen saver changed once more and a few apps and programs were reset. I figured I would restart and to my surprise, upon logging back in, everything was reset and NOW my files have been wiped out. No documents, no pictures, NO NOTHING! Seriously Microsoft, what gives?!? Luckily, this is not my main

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Hard drive/ OS issue

a guy suggested :

• shutdown
• unhooked HDD
• restarted
• yay !!
• reconnected HDD
• restarted
• yay !!
