Windows 10: Event ID 2002 and 2004 Error: Unknown HResult Error code: 0xefffffff Windows Store

As seen in the Applications and Services-Microsoft-Windows-Store/Operational Event Log the following messages:

Note the PC has a clean build, sfc shows no errors

Windows Store Troubleshooter found NO issues.


The Microsoft Store does not update automatically and my suspicion is that it is due to the endless operational errors reported by the "Event Viewer".


When will Microsoft fix this? It has only been 4 years since this question was last asked publicly on this forum and for some reason the threads always get locked or are never fully resolved.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I dont want another account.

There are multiple bugs in the software that need to be troubleshoot,

What is happening in the code appinstallcontrol.cpp around lines 3977 and 1285? Knowing that will give a way to troubleshoot. You are defined by Microsoft as an EXPERT in this issue

Just creating another user will not

Have you checked your own windows 10 event logs and go to the Applications and Service Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Store -> Operational?

In that case, you may create a new User account and check if it helps.

• 
  In search type User Account.
  
• 
  Select manage another account.
  
• 
  Select add a new user in this PC account.
  
• 
  Click on Add someone else to this PC and follow the onscreen instructions
