Windows 10: elan wbf fingerprint sensor error code 10

Location: Intel(R) Serial IO SPI Host Controller - 9D29

ISSUE: ``` This device cannot be started. (Code 10)

{Operation failed} The requested operation has failed. ```

Seems to be common issue with this device in Windows 10 after some time of using with Windows Hello.

Tried changing drivers for Intel INF/Intel Super IO/ Elan Fingerprint. No luck.

Reinstalling Windows 10 with lastest updates. No luck.

No BSOD here.

FINGERPRINT SENSOR ELAN WBF NOT WORKING ON Windows 10 -

Hello,

After an update, the Windows Hello Fingerprint option is no longer available / doesnt work.

Here the info about my pc:

MODEL: HP 15-dw0014nl

Windows Version: 1909 (Build 18363.592)

I went to device manager and saw that there is a problem in the driver ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor.

Device Status:

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

{Operation Failed}

The requested operation was unsuccessful.

I am no pc expert and apart from checking for updates, I don't know what to do.

How can I solve the problem? I also tried to see if I could download the driver online in order to do uninstall&reinstall, but I couldn't find an official website and I didn't trust sources like softpedia.

Any help would really be appreciated.

ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor on ASUS Laptop is not working,

version: 4.5.1001.10704

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

The process hosting the driver for this device has terminated.

I think this happened since this update windows, but I don't know which one,

since after tried to Reset this PC and check updates, the windows is updating these:

Quality Updates:

- 2019-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based System (KB4522355)

Other Updates:

- Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - October 2019 (KB890830)

tried to uninstall the Quality update using Recovery > Advanced Startup, but unable to uninstall.

kindly please help if someone also experienced this problem.

Reset this PC/Windows

Unfortunately, windows was unable to Uninstall for those Update only...tried and not successful.
