Windows 10: DVD burning - CD/DVD Player option - Not playing as a DVD

I've been trying to create a DVD with some mp4 music videos on, so I inserted a blank DVD-R and when I got the "How do you want to use this disc?" prompt, I selected the "With CD/DVD Player" option. I then drag & drop the mp4 files and click on "Finish burning". It burns them all to the disc just fine & ejects it on completion. However, when I put it back into the computer, it doesn't Auto Play & just displays the files like a drive still, it won't play in any DVD players either. I tried a few DVDs, but all with the same result. I've done this before with no troubles, so what is go

  Did you try to burn the photos using other DVD disc to isolate the issue?

  Do you get any error message when you play the DVD on TV?

  Does the TV supports the file format of photo? (photo formats which you try burning to DVD disc)
  

If you want to make a disc that can hold several hours of music (as opposed to an audio CD that only holds about 80 minutes of music), choose the
Data CD or DVD option. You can also add picture and video files to data discs.

Keep in mind that when you burn a data CD or DVD instead of an audio CD, the CD or DVD player that you use to play it must be able to play the file types that you put on the disc. For example, if all of your songs are in
the WMA format and your CD player only supports MP3 files, you won't be able to play your new data CD or DVD with it.

wont burn a dvd or cd

We would need additional information to help us isolate the issue with Windows Media Player not burning CD or DVD. Kindly verify the following:

• Were there any recent changes made to your computer prior to the issue? (Windows update, software or hardware installation, etc.)
• Were you able to burn DVD and CD before?
• Did you get an error message when you attempted to burn a CD/DVD? What was the exact error?
• What file format were you trying to burn?
• Which version of Windows Media Player do you use?

BURN PICTURES TO DVD/CD

In this case, I would suggest you to use Windows Media Player to burn the images to DVD and check if the issue persists.

  Click the Start button.

  Search for and select Windows Media Player.
  
• 
  In the Player Library, click the Burn tab, click the Burn options button
  
  
  , and then click
  Data CD or DVD.
  
• 
  Insert a blank disc into your CD or DVD burner.
  
  If the AutoPlay dialog box appears, close it.
  
  If your computer has more than one CD or DVD drive, click the drive you want to use in the navigation pane.
  
• 
  If necessary, click the Clear list button to remove all items from the previous burn list.
  
• 
  Find the items in your Player Library that you want to copy to the disc.
  
  For example, you can search for a particular album, browse for individual songs from different albums, or locate a playlist that you previously created.
  
• 
  To create a burn list, drag items from the details pane (the pane in the middle of the Player Library) to the list pane (the pane on the right side of the Player Library).
  
• 
  If you want to change the position of an item in the burn list, drag the item up or down in the list.

  If you want to remove an item from the burn list, right-click the item, and then click
