Windows 10: DVD burner problem on Windows 10

Hi. I had my desktop PC updated about a year ago from 8.1 to 10. I am having problems trying to burn document and image files to DVD. I can play the DVDs I created before but can`t burn new ones. Also the external DVD burner is the same.The "properties" for the DVD drive say it is working properly, but it isn`t. Can anyone advise me on this please .

No DVD Burner in win10

Hi. Thank you for your quick response. I downloaded the suggested programme and was able to produce the necessary VOB files. I could not get the burner to work however. Although the programme recognises my burner as per screen, my PC tell me to insert a disc. I have used both my H and I drives, and also tried DVD+RW and DVD-R, both of which are compatible with the programme. Bree ( a forum guru), also suggested using DVD style.I downloaded that but got the same result. I know that you may not be clued up on the particular software, could there be an issue with the drives? when I check the device manager, things seem to be okay. I just feel that I am missing a step somewhere. When I used win 7, I didnt think about what I was doing, it just happened

Step 1: I suggest you to run Windows Media Player DVD troubleshooter.

Windows Media Player DVD troubleshooter find and fix problems with playing DVDs in Windows Media Player.

Steps:

• Press Windows key, type troubleshooting
  and select it.
• Click on View all in the left pane.
• Click onWindows Media Player DVD and follow the onscreen instructions.

Windows 10 DVD/Burner

We recently upgraded to windows 10. What we didn't know is when doing so we lost the ability to create picture slideshows and burn them onto a DVD. we did find the movie maker which allows us to make the slideshows. Is there a DVD player / burner for windows
10 so we can put our slideshow onto a DVD. we love putting our pictures memories onto DVD and really miss being able to do so. Any suggestion on how to do this . Thank You
