  1. Duplicate a screen saver on both screen of an extended dual monitor setup

I'm currently using an Alienware r17 laptop and have a second monitor hooked up via HDMI. I'm using them in the "extend display" setting and want to keep it that way, however whenever the screensaver comes on I noticed that my second monitor just shows a blue screen while my laptop shows the screensaver. I'd be satisfied if it even just showed black but blue is just weird. The background of the screen saver is also black. My laptop background copied the way I am trying to get the screensaver to just fine as well. Any suggestions?

    :)

  2. Extend the screen saver for dual monitors in windows 10

Hi Richard. I'm Greg, a volunteer installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

If you have a dual-monitor configuration, you can set up a screensaver to move across both monitors, or duplicate on both.

If your office computers have dual video cards, or a single card with dual ports, you can take advantage dual-monitor displays, an excellent way to increase productivity. In personalizing your displays, you may have an official company screensaver which you
want to display across both monitors, or one that you want duplicated on both. If you want a duplicated screensaver, you must also set your desktop to duplicate on both monitors. If you want one screensaver to extend across both monitors, you must set up your
    displays to extend.

    1. Right-click on a blank area of your desktop and select “Personalize.”

    2. Click “Screen Saver” at the bottom-right corner of the window.

    3. Select the desired screen saver from the drop-down menu and indicate a “wait” time in minutes. The screensaver will come on automatically after the computer has been idle for that period of time.

    4. Check the “On resume, display logon screen” for added security, if desired. This feature requires you to enter your password when resuming your Windows session.

    5. Click “Apply” and then “OK.”

    6. Click on the “Display” link at the bottom left.

    7. Click “Adjust Resolution” on the left.

    8. Choose “Extend these displays” from the Multiple Displays drop-down menu if you’d like a single screensaver to travel across both displays. Click “Duplicate these displays” if you want a duplicated screen saver to display on each monitor.

    9. Click “OK.”

According to this thread tracking the issue, it is now available as of Version 1703:

    .

You can manually upgrade to the latest version by installing Media Creation Tool to Upgrade Now:

    .

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

  3. screen saver on dual monitors

    Hi Greg,

Sorry no, not what I mean.

That link covers: one background picture stretching across two monitors.

I'm looking to: fix a monitor that won't show the screensaver.

I have a slide show of photos. I'm using this slide show as the Screen Saver (not background, not lock screen).

    I have dual monitors.

I have tried all combinations of extending and duplicating.

Currently the laptop screen is disabled - so I'm only using the two main monitors.

One monitor goes to sleep (and is black) and the other shows the slide show screen saver.

I'd like both monitors to show the screen saver. Either the same picture at the same time, or different pictures (from the same folder / slide show - this is what it was doing, very nicely, until recently).

    thanks!!

  4. Duplicate a screen saver on both screen of an extended dual monitor setup

Windows 10 Screen Saver Dual Screen

I have a high-performance 64-bit Workstation with special NVIDIA Quadro 4000 drivers for the dual monitors designed for AutoCAD 3D. When I first upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, the screen saver
displayed properly on only one screen while I was able to use both screens during normal operation. I recently had to re-install Windows 10 and discovered that the screen saver now uses the PC Display settings of Monitor 1 only, Monitor 2 only, Duplicate,
or Extended. In Extended mode, the screen saver displays on the crack between the two monitors. In Monitor 1 (or 2) Only or Duplicate mode, I cannot use the two monitors for work. The system recognizes the two monitors and the drivers and operates normally.
I re-installed all drivers for all hardware devices including the graphics card and the monitors, performed a hardware diagnostics and checked for updates to Windows 10: no joy. Any advice?
