    After downloading and installing Dropbox from dropbox website in the default location or any other, it syncs and all appears fine. However after rebooting Dropbox is unable to start citing an permissions error.


    The folder containing my dropbox files shows them all, but none can be copied or opened using any app as it produces a windows error

    This is a permissions related error. I scan Scannow /sfc etc but no errors.


    After opening properties/Security I verified that I had Full control of the folder and all subfolders/files both as a user and an admin.


    Does any one have any suggestion on how i can get dropbox working by getting the Windows system to let me access and use my damn files? Any help much appreciated!


    Dropbox help just suggested me to uninstall and reinstall but thats doesnt help even after cleanign registry etc. I have no antivirus except Windows Security, and the firewall is set to allow Dropbox traffic in and out . Disabling it makes no difference,.

    This doesn't list the "Surface Laptop", but you might give it a try to see.

    *Arrow Boot Microsoft Surface from a USB device

    Otherwise, you should be able to use OPTION ONE below to boot from the USB from advanced startup.

    Ok so I feel officially dumb I am trying to copy my steam library to my NAS. Both are on windows 10 pro and both have full control in the file manager. Neither windows nor fast copy will allow me to copy, both list a permissions error? This was never an issue with windows 7...so first off thank you microsoft god forbid I want to back up my data, second off what the heck do I need to do to make this work. All I could fine online was to set full control and that obviously didn't help.

    Also robocopy doesn't apparently work with network locations?
