Windows 10: Do I need a new Wireless Network Driver?

If my computer automatically loses internet connection wirelessly from my modem, is this a strong chance that I need a new driver for it?

If so, could someone please assist me on where I can find a newer version of the wireless network driver?

My specs are listed below in the specs field.

so i just got a new gaming laptop for Christmas i wasant really used to the mouse so i decided to plug in my Xbox one controller but when i did it told me that windows did not recognize this device so i watched some YouTube videos and read forums and did
almost everything but still same stupid message and am getting really annoyed!! so please can someone help me or tell me that my controller is broken and and i need a new one

This issue might have caused by a software conflict. For us to identify the cause of this issue, please answer the following questions:

• What is the build number and version of your Windows?
• Can you provide a screenshot of the error message that you have encountered?
• Can you enumerate the troubleshooting steps that you have performed?

In case that you haven't tried running the hardware and device troubleshooter, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Click on Start.
• Open Settings.
• Click on Update & Security.
• Select Troubleshoot tab.
• Under Find and fix other problems, click on
  Hardware and Devices.
• Click on Run the troubleshooter button.
• If prompted, click on Yes or enter the administrator password.
• Follow the onscreen guide.

Have you gone to the Toshiba site for you system and see if they have any driver updates for you......

 

Yes. I believe they are current.

 

Yes. I checked it just last week. I also have Toshiba Service Station installed which keeps check on updated drivers. It's similar to HP Support Assistant. I don't think there are any updated drivers available on Toshiba's website.

 

You might go into your PC Settings........."Network and Internet".....then on the left select "Wifi"............Then "adapter properties"......copy and paste your adapter information and then search google or whatever you use for the latest driver for that adapter and see what you find.....

While you are in your setting in Wifi you might look around and see how you have things setup now.....

The latest driver is at version 10 for the Qualcomm Atheros AR956x wireless adapter....

I suggest you do a system backup or at least create a restore point before you install the new driver........you can also roll back the new driver to the one you currently have if you experience any problems.....

Download WiFi Inspector to test the signal strength of your Router. Your Wireless Router is broadcasting on channel 11. WiFi inspector will tell you what your neighbors are broadcasting at, you can boot into the Router Setup and change the channel to something that is not conflicting with the neighbors

We have had a bunch of rain come through for the past 2 days. That could be another factor of why it has been acting up. Plus we live in an old house. It could be all sorts of factors. But I updated the driver and am going to download WiFi Inspector.

 

Thank you spunk and kipper for your help. I will be sure to leave y'all some points when I get up tomorrow to turn my computer back on. As of right now, I can't do it since I am on the app for iPhone.
