Windows 10: DMX 6Fire USB Windows 11 Support

Just to let you know that the procedure I used in Windows 10 also works in Windows 11, meaning we can still use our beloved DMX 6Fire USB.I will always appreciate the fact that this is the only ASIO card in the market with 5.1 surround sound for home users - I only found Scarlett 8i8 and up as alternatives, which require workarounds.

As per the query after an recent update your being asked to use the PC sound card for playback of files and your unable to use Terratec DMX 6fire USB.

- Do you know the recent update KB article ?


Lets follow the below steps and see if this helps/
Step 1: View installed updates.

Type “View Installed Updates” in the Search box and then click on View Installed Updates – Control Panel from the Search results.

Step 2 :

To uninstall the an update, select it from the list and then click Uninstall.

Installing windows off of a USB stick

Step By Step from vista:
From admin cmd prompt

1. diskpart
1a. list disk
2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .
