Windows 10: DISM not working + no more Windows Events Logging

HelloI experienced both issues in the same time, without thinking they were connected in a first time.1. For one month, Windows Events Logging has stopped functioning correctly --> The logs stopped at a precise date2. To solve this, I tried to execute "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" but it failed with an error n°87

:)

 

How to get damn DISM to work?

Thx guys, I'll compress this data into a blog post. For all the so called guides I've read, not a single one mentioned it has to be WIM file (some listed even ESD which clearly doesn't work) or that certain ISO images don't work with DISM.

After I've done DISM thingie, SFC also managed to repair stuff. Which is what I've needed here.

 

Event "Error" Log Repair required (Windows 10)

possibilities why these errors occur in
your event logs. The errors depends on what it is related to. It could be your
application, drivers, firmware, hardware, or your storage devices. You can check this

We suggest that you perform these following methods of troubleshooting steps and check if there's any changes:



Method 1: Update your drivers.

Method 2:
Run SFC Scan.  

To run an
SFC scan, follow these steps:  

• 
  Run
  Command Prompt as Administrator.  
  
• 
  Type
  sfc /scannow
  and hit
  Enter.   
  

Method 3:
Run DISM Tool.  

To run
DISM Tool, follow these steps:

• 
  Run
  Command Prompt as Administrator.  
  
• 
  Type the following command:  
  
  • 
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /scanhealth  
    
  • 
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth  
    
  
  
  

NOTE:
This might take a while to finish scanning.
Do not cancel.

Note:
Reset the computer back to
Normal Mode
once you are done with the troubleshooting by following the section
"How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting"
from the same article.

In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
Are you able to follow them?
In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.
