Disabling CSM and enabling secure boot makes my Boot drive disappear.

Windows 11 upgrade requires I enable secure boot on my PC, it's main use is as a home Plex Server, It has an Intel 8700k and I just use the integrated graphics UHD 630, I don't need a discreet gpu for this. I believe W11 supports this.In the BIOS gigabyte z370 motherboard the Storage Boot Option & Other PCI Devices are set to UEFI mode.To enable 'Secure Boot' I have to disable CSM support, which I do and enable secure boot but when my PC reboots it goes back to set up and there is no boot drives listed, I have to return the bios back to the original for my drives to show up, the Boot dri

    disabling secure boot

    Hello
These are the instructions I received from the engineers at Asus regarding disabling secure boot. I can do so by clearing keys but that is not advised. I want to use various Linux distros which require that secure boot be disabled. My new board is Asus Tuf z390 Gaming Plus Wifi.
Their directions below did not disable secure boot either. If you have any ideas I would appreciate them. The builder said he felt enabling CSM as Asus did should have disabled secure boot too.

    >>BIOS -> Boot -> CSM (Compatibility Support Module) -> Launch CSM -> Enabled

    1. Boot mode -> UEFI and Legacy
    2. Boot from Network -> Legacy (old drives); or UEFI mode (for NVME/SSD drives)
    3. Boot from Storage -> Legacy (old drives); or UEFI mode (for NVME/SSD drives)
    4. Boot from PCIE/PCI -> Legacy (old drives); or UEFI mode (for NVME/SSD drives)
    5. Go back to Boot -> Secure Boot -> OS Type -> Windows UEFI Mode (Windows 10/8.1/8) and Other OS (for Windows 7)<<

    Boot drive

OK, Hi Charlotte, if you have Windows 10 installation Media created at this point, there are a few changes you need to make.

You said you got into System Config (that is your BIOS)

Insert the Installation Media into a USB Port

Go back to that System Config screen and make these changes:

    • Disable Secure Boot
    • Enable Legacy Boot - )More options should appear on the different BIOS Tabs)
    • If available, enable CSM
    • If required enable USB boot
    • Move the USB Flash drive to the top of the boot order
    • Save changes to System config and exit

Start your system and it should boot from the installation Media

Disabling CSM and enabling secure boot makes my Boot drive disappear.

Reinstalled windows 10 won't boot without disc

Do you have an old BIOS or UEFI

To check, see if in your BIOS you have these options:

If the file system on your hard drive is GPT:

    • Secure Boot - should be enabled
    • Legacy Boot - should be disabled
    • CSM should be disabled
    • USB boot - should be disabled
If the file system on your hard drive is NTFS and these options exist in your BIOS:

    • Secure Boot - should be disabled
    • Legacy Boot - should be enabled
    • CSM should be enabled
    • USB boot - should be disabled

Also please check in your BIOS that SATA Mode is set to AHCI . . .
