Windows 10: Disable Sticky Notes auto startup in windows 10

Dear MS,


Could you please provide a way to forever disable auto startup of Sticky Notes? I know that to disable it I should change Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PenWorkspace\Notes -> LaunchOnNextUserSession to 0, however when I shut down my PC while sticky notes are turned on, it will simply reset the LaunchOnNextUserSession to 1. Do I miss something??


This is very annoying, and to be honest I really don't know what other people use Sticky Notes for, I personally use them for quite personal things and data, that is why when it starts up with my PC that is a privacy problem.

I suggest you start Windows with a clean boot and run them again, then verify the results.

Since the steps provided did not help, we'll try a different approach. We suggest resetting Sticky Notes first then proceed on doing the same steps on how to disable it on startup. Follow the steps provided below:

• Go to Settings.
• Select Apps.
• Find Sticky Notes under Apps
  & features.
• Select Advanced options.
• Click Reset.
• Repeat the steps provided by Confused Caribou.
