Windows 10: Desktop suddenly out of scale. Icons spaced way apart and bottom of screen inaccessible.

1 I bought a new Dell PC laptop with Windows 10, and setup everything. Everything looked great.


2 I downloaded Carbonite, and as soon as I started Carbonite, the desktop went out scale, icons spaced way apart on top of each other, and the bottom of the desktop screen can't be used.


3 I tried many of the standard things/tricks such as changing icon size, desktop icon restore default, scale layout, text size, changing themes, changing display resolution, changing "align to grid", etc.., but nothing worked.


4 I uninstalled Carbonite and it didn't work.


5 I restarted several times and it didn't work.


6 The desktop seems to be stuck.


I was hoping not to have to reset PC. Is there anyway to get desktop back to normal?

Desktop icons are too widely spaced apart

My desktop applications are too widely spaced apart.

How do I revert it back to when all my apps could be placed in a grid-format along the left-hand side of the screen?

 

Icon spacing

This is how I did:

1. Right click on desktop->Display Settings and set it 150%. NOTE: If you have dual monitors, click on other monitor and do the same.
   
   
   
2. Control Panel->Display->Set a custom scaling level, again set it to 150%, Change the text size for each item: Menu, Title, icon etc... then click apply
   
   
   
   

 

Desktop icons are set wide apart and words overlap

Hi.

To modify the size of the icons we will make a very simple process, press right click on any blank space on the desktop and select the option View.

We can see that by default the size of the icons is medium.

If we decide to use the Small Icons option we will notice the modification and we will see the desktop in the following way.

In this way we can modify the different sizes for the icons on the desktop. But there are other aspects that we would also like to modify, which we are going to analyze.
