Windows 10: Dell Vostro 15 3000 - Internal speaker not working/no audio output device available

I have been having problems with my Dell Vostro forever and a day. The internal laptop speakers just stopped working quite a while back and I've been trying to find a solution on and off for this but with no luck so far. I am able to pick up external devices bluetooth, headphones and other audio devices however no luck in finding the speaker for output. Below is a screenprint of my system information

Internal monitor speakers showing up as audio device but not an audio output option

I am using a new Dell XPS 15 laptop (Windows 11) connected (via USB-C) to a Dell 4K monitor via a Thunderbolt Dock. I'm keeping the laptop closed and using only the external monitor. However, I cannot play audio through the monitor's integrated speakers. When I go to sound settings in Windows 11, I can only see the laptop's Realtek speakers listed. The monitor, however, is shown as an "audio" device on the devices page. How can I make the speakers inside the monitor show up as an audio output option? I have installed all Windows 11 and Dell XPS updates, including BIOS.

i've tried all that, what i've been doing is via device manager, uninstalling the speaker then rebooting, this works for a while, then the speaker stops working, with a without the red x. one more thing, when the speaker is working the sound is scratchy like an old vinyl record played with a needle. p.s. can't seem to get a screen shot.
