    Dell Latitude E6430 bricked after latest Windows 10 2004 Update


    A Dell notebook, model Latitude E6430 perfectly running Windows 10 got the Windows May update to v2004 last night. Following the instructions and rebooting when prompted to, the PC restarted. It showed the Dell logo and then went blank and stayed that way for over 10 minutes.

    Turning off and switching on the machine again after about 10 minutes, the screen now doesn't turn on at all. All what happens is the fan spinning up for a short while and then the LED status indicating "Possible processor failure" according to Dell's documentation, by indicating [blinking][solid][solid] on the status LEDs [Storage][Power][Wireless].

    Taking out the battery and drive made no difference either.

    There's no way to even access the BIOS to do some diagnostics.

    Additionally even salvaging data isn't possible anymore as the SSD that worked perfectly well before in the device now can't be accessed using an external SATA adapter on another notebook.


    Any ideas?

    All my laptops (Dell E6430s) have some weird issue with updates.

    Cannot Setup Windows Hello on Dell Latitude E6430

    I am trying to setup the fingerprint scanner for Windows Hello on my Dell Latitude E6430. However, when I run through the setup process, the progress bar runs to about 40% then a window pops up saying, "Sorry, something went wrong. Close Windows Hello, and
    try going through the setup again."

    I have the correct drivers installed, and I updated the reader's firmware.

    Dell E6430 Touchpad


    Hi everyone,

    I have a Dell E6430 laptop and the ALPS touchpad does not work properly under Windows 10 Pro.
    On bootup only the left button works, and this is behaving reversed (as if it was a right button click), and the right button does not work at all.
    Can only really use the laptop with an external mouse plugged in.
    Have tried various Alps drivers but to no avail.
    Any suggestions at all ?
