Windows 10: Daily updated desktop background is gone

After my most recent Windows 11 update a few days ago, my daily updated desktop background disappeared and was replaced with a black screen. If I go to display settings, there are options to change the screen with a solid color or fixed image, but not with a daily updated background. The website link there, "Getting new wallpapers every day from Microsoft," downloaded a program that did not do anything; apparently it is for the Edge background, not the Windows desktop background.Does anyone have a solution for how I can restore the daily updated desktop background in Windows 11?Thanks.

We loved your suggestion to have a a background with a countdown for an specified date. We can consider this suggestion for future updates. To give you another option, we suggest to use Windows spotlight instead. Kindly follow the steps below to configure
it:

• Open Settings app.
• Click on Personalization
• Click on Lockscreen tab at the left panel.
• Under Background, select Windows spotlight.
• Under Choose an app to show detailed status, select
  Calendar app icon.

Note: Please make sure that you are logged in to Calendar app where the appointments was set.

Desktop background gone black after a few minutes of use on laptop.

Desktop background and taskbar going black could be due to software conflicts.

We would like to know some information to better assist you with your concern:

• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Did you get any error messages or error codes?

In the meantime, we suggest that you try to check if the "Show Windows Background" option is turned on. Follow the steps below:

• Open Settings in the Start menu.
• Go to Ease of Access, then on the left side, click
  Other options.
• Turn on Show Windows Background and check if it works.

• Press Windows Logo Key + I. Then click on Personalization.
• Click on Background to change it.
