  2. Printer Spooler running but not found by Add printer

First, let me answer your questions:

    • Yes, I was able to restart the Print Spooler Service.
    • I do not have a physical printer, I am looking to add Adobe PDF as a printing device.
    • See #2
    • Some programs which I print from do not have an Adobe PDF plugin.

There are no printers installed, and thus, no drivers to uninstall.

I tried the "Fix printer problems". This tried restarting the spooler service, but that did not end up fixing the problem.

  3. Printer Spooler Service will not start

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Please follow the methods given below to resolve this issue:

    Method 1:

Delete the pending files in printer folder and check:

    • Press Windows key + R and type services.msc in the search field and press enter.
    • In the Services listed stop the Print Spooler service.
    • In Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder below, and open the PRINTERS.
    C:\Windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS

    • Click on Continue or Yes (if prompted by UAC) to approve opening the PRINTERS folder.
    • Delete all files in the PRINTERS folder until it is empty, and then close Windows Explorer. Note: DO NOT DELETE the PRINTERS folder itself. Only delete its contents.

Open Services, and start the Print Spooler service.

    Method 2:

Let's start the all the dependencies service for the printer spooler service. Follow the steps provided.

    • Press Windows key + R and type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER.
    • Scroll down toPrint spooler.
    • Right click and click properties, click the tab “Dependencies”
    • Note all of the dependent services listed, and then close thePrint Spooler Properties window.

If any of the dependent services are missing or cannot be started, try uninstalling all installed printer drivers and then reinstalling them.

    Method 3:

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to install the latest driver for the printers from the manufacturer website and check if it helps. You can also refer to the article mentioned below if the issue persists.

    Method 4:

You may also try to temporarily disable security software from the computer and try to print. If you are able to print, you may contact the security software Manufacturer and check if you need to change any settings

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do have
to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done.

Hope the information helps, if you have any further queries, feel free to post. We are here to assist you.

  4. Custom Printer Preferences resetting after restarting Printer Spooler Services/Restarting PC

    printer spooler

    hello

I got my document stuck in the printer at first, it can't be deleted or stopped or restarted.

so I search the solution on internet, the solution that I got is

"Pinaki Mohanty posted on April 2, 2013 -

If the documents have got stuck in the queue, you can turn off the print spooler service, delete the pending documents and then restart the service again to print the documents.

    Follow the methods:

    Method 2:
If the printer troubleshooter does not help, then, we need to delete all the pending files from the print documents queue and then try to print the documents.

But, to delete the documents, you have to stop the print Spooler service (software that temporarily stores print jobs on the PC's hard disk).

You can stop print spooler service and then delete all the pending documents.

In this ways you start printing the documents again.

    Follow the steps:

    a) Press Windows key and R on the keyboard together.

    b) Type “Services.msc” inside the box and press Enter.

    c) Click on Print Spooler service and right click on it.

    d) Click the "Stop" button to stop the Print Spooler Service if it is running.

    e) Check whether the Startup type is set to Automatic. If not, then set it to Automatic.

    f) Go to the following location and delete all the pending documents from the “Printer”. “C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS

    g) Delete all the queued print jobs (select and delete all the files) in the folder so the folder is devoid of pending print jobs. The folder should be empty when you are done.

    h) Restart your system and check the Print Spooler Service again to be sure the Print Spooler Service restarts automatically on reboot (since the Startup type is set to Automatic).

    i) After rebooting, check the Print Spooler service again and the "Status" column for the Print Spooler should read "Started". "

but after I stopped the print spooler service and I open the printers folder my file explorer was hung and the pc is restarted and when I open the service again, the print spooler on the service is starting and not running. and I can't stop the printer spooler
or restart it. And now my printer device is not detected in my pc and everytime I try to click my file explorer folder in my windows, the file explorer is hung and can't do anything.

so how to clear this problem?

my pc windows is windows 10.

    thanks
