Windows 10: Ctrl + Shift + V Format Change

Since today, the format for Ctrl + Shift + V has changed and it is not the sort of thing I like!It used to just copy the previously copied text immediately, but now you have to select what you want to past.See attached screenshot image.Don't know if someone can help, get it back to the previous format!

Why didn't ctrl+shift+v work?

Instead of ctrl+v I used ctrl+shift+v to paste formatted text from a google results page [Google's right-hand sidebar], and nothing pasted. So I used the PureText third-party program and that worked fine. What was the problem with ctrl+shift+v?

Ctrl+Shift+V pastes formatted text. Ctrl+Shift+V pastes formatted text. May I asks where you can't paste text from Google's search results page after copying it. If you can provide more information, I can test the question for you.

In general, Windows's built-in key combination is not working, so you can check to see if other keys conflict with it and see How to perform a clean boot in Windows to disable all third party software/services.

CTRL+SHIFT keyboard combos not working

I've been using Windows 10 at home for a couple years. I use numerous keyboard combinations that involve CTRL+SHIFT. For example:

• CTRL+SHIFT+V to paste text without formatting
  
• CTRL+SHIFT+T to reopen a closed tab in Google Chrome
  
• CTRL+SHIFT+E to export photos in Adobe Lightroom
  

And so on.

My problem is that all CTRL+SHIFT keyboard combos stopped working. I don't know how or why! Suddenly one day they didn't work any more. Whenever I press CTRL and SHIFT at the same time, I get a beep, and the desired combinations don't do anything at all. This problem persisted for more than six months. I tried everything I could think of, researched many forums and message boards. Nothing worked! I gave up and learned to live without it, though I was quite frustrated.

Two weeks ago I noticed the functionality had returned. CTRL+SHIFT keyboard combos worked again! No more beeps! What changed? I don't know. I enjoyed using these shortcuts again, until about an hour ago when they stopped working again and the beeps returned.

And here's the kicker: midway through drafting this post, the problem once again went away. CTRL+SHIFT is working again. Hooray. But for how long?

I strongly suspect that I'm inadvertently turning some setting on and off. Can somebody please tell me what or how? This is kind of driving me crazy, and I don't want to be at the mercy of my own stupidity any longer. I can't be the only person having this problem, can I?
