    i'm trying to create an icon .DLL from the Black and Gold icon packs from icebabee just curious on how to do that and also convert the PNG files to ICO

    all help is greatly appreciated.

    How do I add new icons to the SystemRoot%\System32\shell32.dll on my computer?

    Hi Mitchell,

    The icons found in SystemRoot%\System32\shell32.dll are by default. Only .dll files can be used as icons, you need to use a third party software that can convert/create your .png files to .dll.

    Don't hesitate to post back should you have any other concerns.

    I can't change Google Chrome Shortcut Icon

    icons cannot be changed to a Picture, you can change them to another icon. If you would like change the shortcut to a picture, you would have convert the picture file to a .ico format, then browse to it.

    After converting your image, you can right click the shortcut to YouTube, click Properties, Web Document tab, then click Change Icon

    Browse to the icon you created.

    Click Open

    Click Apply then OK

    The ICO's have to be multi-layered.
    I use GIMP for such conversions.

    Black and Gold... nice icon pack! If it's the same, I found here already converted to ICO:

    Creating a DLL from scratch, that's another story. You may try to use a copy of an existent one but I believe you'll need some resource editing program to put the icons in it.
