Windows 10: Continuous audio and microphone issues on my Dell Precision 5760 since February 2024

I am having continuous audio and microphone issues on my Dell Precision 5760. The audio has been randomly dropping out since February 2024, and the microphone has recently started doing the same. Usually, once I restart, the audio or microphone reappears. But clearly something is wrong that it continues to happen. I uninstalled and reinstalled the audio and mic drivers last week, but now the audio and mic started dropping out again one two days ago and the other yesterday. Sometimes a restart does not work but a Dell update will, but most of the time Dell says that everything is up to d

• Have you done any changes on your computer prior to the issue?

Microphone issues

Here are the possible reasons why you're getting an error "The microphone did not pick anything up" when using it:

• Incorrect settings (microphone is not set as default device)
  
• Corrupted or outdated driver
  
• Faulty device
  

For us to isolate the issue, we'd like to know the following:

• Were there any changes made to your computer prior to this issue(e.g. Windows updates)?
  
• Have you tried connecting other microphone to your computer?
  
• Have you tried connecting the microphone to the other computer?
  

In the meantime, we suggest running the Recording Audio Troubleshooter to find and repair problems with recording sound. We also suggest checking if your microphone is set as your default recording device. For troubleshooting steps, please see

Dell Precision m6500 audio issues

Hi,

I have an old Dell Precision M6500, i have since a few months back having issues with audio and video sync when im streaming.

I have tried to update the audio drivers and have had no luck. microsofts own drivers started this, i tried IDTs drivers and now my no sound at all.

have searched in different forums and even microsofts forums after same issues with no help. wondering now if maybe posting here i might have some luck
