Windows 10: consistent update problems error code: 0x800f0805

Hello. I've been having troubles updating my windows since roughly the end of February this year. Along with that I've noticed a missing wsock32.dll error anytime I try to launch Steam, which prior to this had worked fine without any sort of errors that couldn't be solved be restarting the program/my PC. I have a hunch the two errors could be linked. I don't know much beyond a general layman, however, I have tried general scans through cmd prompt and none of them have fixed my issue. I'm hoping I wont need to wipe and try a fresh install on my hard-drive, but I'm not sure what else to try at t

Thank you for the reply. I include my feedback on the issue:

I performed a clean boot according to the steps. On this boot I tried,

• Updating through Windows Update (threw error 0x800f0805)
• Updating through Windows 10 Update Assistant as the link suggested (threw error 0x8007001f).

 

I have error code 0x800f0805 and it will not allow my computer to update. Any suggestions?
