  1. Connecting phone via USB causes USB headphones to disconnect

For context, my PC using Windows 11 has 3 usb ports, I use one for my mouse and the other for my headphones. Whenever I connect my phone to my PC by USB the specific port I use doesnt change anything, it disconnects my headphones and they no longer show up under sound settings. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the headphones while the iphone is connected, which does not fix the issue. The only way to fix the issue is by disconnecting the iPhone, after which the headphones are recognized and connect. I have disabled selective USB suspending under power settings, and that did not fi

  2. Display Turn Off in Power Options Causing USB Disconnection

Hello everyone, I'm encountering a peculiar issue related to the Power Options settings on my Windows machine (Version 22H2). Whenever Windows automatically turns off my display, it seems to inadvertently cause the devices connected to my USB hub to disconnect. Here's a more detailed description of the problem:
    1. Display Turn Off Issue: After Windows turns off the display, my USB-connected devices disconnect.
    2. Wake-Up Login Requirement: When I wake up the monitor with a mouse movement, I'm prompted to log back into Windows, as if the system had entered seep mode or logged off.
    Steps I've Taken So Far:
    • Set Power Options to never enter sleep mode.
    • Disabled hibernation and USB selective suspend.
    • Restored default power settings using "powercfg -restoredefaultschemes".
    • Imported power options from "Default_Power_Plans.zip" found on this forum.
    • Analyzed settings with PowerSettingExplorer, but nothing unusual was noted.
    • Checked the event log and Sleep Study report ("pwrcfg -systemsleepdiagnostics") for any signs of the machine being put to sleep, but found none.
Interestingly, this problem does not occur when I manually turn off the monitor. It only happens when Windows does it automatically. Also, this issue is not isolated to one machine; it's happening on several, which leads me to believe it's not a hardware issue. I'm looking for any suggestions on how to further diagnose and resolve this issue. Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Bree, but doing so made no difference.

I've been researching this issue, including event ID 51. Most seems to suggest that the drive is failing, but that isn't for my drive. The USB 3.0 hub on the monitor does not have the system connect/disconnect issue, transferring 11 GBs of data didn't even take long:

USB port mess... - Windows 7 Help Forums

Yes, my own post from four years ego in Windows 7 forum, pretty much forgot that the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP5 TH motherboard has a hardware issue related to the USB ports.

Maybe removing all USB hubs/devices, let Windows 10 detect them and install the driver(s) would resolve this. After reading through my link above, I am not inclined to do that at this time...

Again, thanks for your help Bree...
