    There was a well-known Windows Update issue where many Windows 10 users were apparently stuck at Version 1909 due to the infamous Conexant Audio Driver problem that wouldn't let windows update to version 2004 or the latest version 20H2.

    However, Conexant decided to release a driver update for their Conexant HD Audio that my laptop uses currently using "Windows Updates" to fix this issue. I installed their driver update around 15th march when it got released that same day via "Windows Updates" and my audio hasn't been the same ever since. I used to use their "Audio Wizard" application to adjust the bass, treble, loudness settings to adjust to my earphones and I used to get an Audio quality of around 9/10which was perfect enough for me, but ever since the update the audio output has become very low and the sound quality is very bad equal to a 30 year old radio. My bass setting is always the highest and treble at 75% usually and even now maybe there is no issue with bass sounds but the mids and highs are just plain awful and the output is very low. Audio quality is now 5/10 and no amount of playing around with the Audio Wizard application helps.


    P.S : I tried rolling back the update for Conexant HD Audio through "Device Manager" but that option is greyed out and I am stuck with their latest version although my Windows 10 is now updated to version 20H2. I am hoping Conexant soon release a new fix for this.


    P.S.S : I couldn't find dedicated Conexant forums on Google search so I decided to post it here since the driver update was released through "Windows Updates"

  2. Driver issues with Conexant sound (Toshiba L755)

    I have a Toshiba L755-1J5 laptop.

    The sound cuts off after playing for several seconds or minutes. I'm not alone in having this problem, several people on various Toshiba forums have also had this or similar issues.

    To resolve the issue temporarily, I have to disable and re-enable the driver in the Device Manager. It's become tiresome.

    Toshiba do not offer Windows 10 drivers for this model.

    I have tried the following three drivers:

    And have performed a System 'reset' which took several hours, but the issue remained.

    How can I permanently uninstall Conexant SmartAudio HD audio driver

    It's not work. I have done this

    1. download and run the program you suggested.

    Conexant driver is not on the list (select to hide)

    2. uninstall Conexant driver

    High Definition Audio Device is in used now

    3. run program again

    Conexant driver still not on the list (select to hide)

    4. restart my laptop

    High Definition Audio Device still in used.

    5. run program again

    Conexant driver is on the list (select to hide)

    6. Select Conexant and Hide it

    Conexant driver is now in hidden list

    7. a few minutes later my laptop notify me to restart my laptop to finished setting up Conexant

    Conexant driver is now disappear from the hidden list and take over my sound device again.

    CONEXANT AUDIO DRIVERS 2021/03 UPDATE SOUND QUALITY ISSUE

    Conexant Sound not working on ASUS GL752VW. No Audio Device Installed.

    A few weeks back I got an ASUS ROG GL752VW. During my initial set up in the first few days, I went into device manager, to my sound card, which is Conexant brand and updated the drivers. This caused the sound on my laptop to completely stop working upon a restart. Attempting to download the Windows 10 64bit drivers for the soundcard, uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling the newly download ones did not work. I have include screenshots of what is shown WITH the conexant drivers installed. When I try and look at playback devices when right clicking volume, NOTHING comes up.


    As a work around, I uninstalled the conexant drivers and ran sound using the default windows 'High Definition Audio Device', which worked fine until the other day, when for some reason my sound quality took a massive drop and has started crackling and popping whenever sound plays. The ONLY thing I did software/hardware wise at the time this Crackling issue started was install Logitech Gaming Software for my new mouse. It does appear to be driver related as it does the same through either laptop speakers or headphones.

    I have tried the fixes found in this thread: Windows 10 no sound SOLUTION (CONEXANT) - Page 3 - Windows 10 Forums including the final regedit idea, but nothing has worked. The only thing I haven't tried is the installing older Windows 7/8 drivers suggestion.
