  1. Computer managed by an orginization

I've been struggling with this for a while now. Everytime I try to change a certain setting I get the text "Your PC is managed by an orginization" and when I was able to sign in with a PIN-code it said every so often that I had to change it for that orginization. This computer was newly bought and only used by myself but I still get this problem. It's very annoying as I can't login anymore with my PIN-code. I've already tried many things even something by the Microsoft Help Desk on another forum post. None of the options below worked for me and I'll tell you why.

Method 1: Delete the NGC folder

    1. Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key and the R key together.
    2. Type C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC and hit the Enter key.
    3. Now delete all the contents in the NGC folder
    4. Restart the PC and then add PIN in Windows Settings.

-> This didn't work because there is no "AppData" folder in the 'LocalService' folder.

Method 2: Using Group policy settings if you have Windows 10 Pro installed.

If you are on Windows 10 Pro edition, you can change the group policy settings to enable PIN sign-in option for all users.

    1. Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key and the R key together.
    2. Type GPEDIT.MSC and hit the Enter key.
    3. Go to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Logon.
    4. On the right side, double click on Turn on PIN sign-in and select Enable.
    5. Similarly disable the other Windows Hello options if any.
    6. Exit the Group policy editor and reboot the computer.

-> This didn't work because the "Turn on PIN sign-in" option isn't there. I've also noticed that I have way fewer options in all those folders than is supposed to be according to other tutorials on how to get rid of the "managed by an orginization".

Method 3: Using Registry settings if you have Windows 10 Home installed

If you are on Windows 10 Home edition, you can change the registry settings to enable PIN sign-in option for all users.

    1. Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key and the R key together.
    2. Type Regedit and hit the Enter key.
    3. When the Registry Editor opens, navigate to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Settings\AllowSignInOptions.
    4. In the right pane, double click on the DWORD entry named value set it to 1.

-> This didn't do anything because the value was already set to 1.

I really hope you can help me as I'm getting tired of all the problems regarding this issue.

    Here are the OS specs:

    Windows 10 Home

    Version 1909 OS Build 18363.959

When looking at 'winver', I saw that there was a line under my email adress which just said 'org name'

Thanks in advance for the help.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Computer (orginally 8) keeps rebooting to install updates

    Hi Christopher,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that your computer keeps restarting because of updates and I will be happy to answer your query. Let me ask you;

    • Which security software is installed in the computer?
    • Do you remember making any specific change in the computer prior to the issue?
    • Are you referring to an update or multiple?
    This could be due to several reasons and to diagnose the issue, I would suggest you to try the steps below and check;

Step 1: Remove any external devices connected to PC (except mouse and keyboard)

Step 2: Disable security software and check.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software,
you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Step 3: If you are referring to multiple updates, I would suggest you to try installing 4-5 updates at a time and then try restarting the computer.

Hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to reply in case you face any other issues with Windows in future.

  4. Computer managed by an orginization

Taskbar bug: switching to another window -will not appear at the front

Follow either of these steps to fix the issue with the Active window hiding behind.

    Method 1:
I suggest you to disable window by hovering over it with the mouse and check if it helps. To do so I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it helps:

    1. Press Windows key + X key and click on Control Panel.
    2. Select or click Ease of Access.
    3. Click or tap onEase of Access Centre.
    4. Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
    5. Check if issue is resolved.
    Method 2:
I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

    1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
    2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.
    3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
    4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
    5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.
