Windows 10: Computer freezes but cursor still moves

Discus and support Computer freezes but cursor still moves in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; So my pc will randomly start to slow down and freeze. But the mouse cursor will still move.     So my pc will randomly start to slow down and freeze. But the mouse cursor will still move. I can’t get out of this unless I force shutdown or restart. I have windows 11 home inactivated.

    Intermittent Freezing linked to Cursor movement

    Hi,

    The cursor on my laptop freezes every few seconds when I move it. This happens with both my bluetooth mouse and my inbuilt touchpad. I know the laptop is freezing and not just the cursor because if I run an app with a progress bar it also freezes at the same time as the cursor. The freezing only seems to happen when I move the cursor.

    The freezing is just momentary (like it pauses for a second and then goes on as normal). I do not have to do anything to get it to unfreeze.

    I have tried re-installing the drivers for mouse and touch pad.

    I have defragged and cleaned up the HD.

    I have tried doing a system restore but just get an error (I only have 1 restore point because I stupidly deleted them to create space I didnt need in case it was a space issue).

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Windows freezes when moving cursor

    Hi (sorry if its off-topic), im having a trouble when moving the cursor, windows freezes for 1 or 2 seconds, also i can move the cursor for a few seconds before windows blocks... Why this happens? If someone knows please let me know thanks Computer freezes but cursor still moves :)

    Windows 10 screen freezes every 3 seconds when I move the cursor

    Hello! Just recently after the Windows 10 update this morning, I noticed that when I move the cursor with my mouse or the touchpad, the screen freezes for 1 second every 3 seconds or so, and it is extremely annoying as I can't even play games! However, the
    screen is perfectly normal when I use the touchpad, and it only freezes when the cursor is moving!

    My computer is a Dell Inspiron 15 3878 from 2014

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
