Windows 10: Complete Network Failure

I have an HP Omen 17-ck000. I've had for a few years without an issue. All the sudden networking stopped working. Wi-Fi dropped and when I tried to switch to another network it would just spin and eventually Wi-Fi would completely disappear from the Network & Internet section of the Settings. When I reboot it comes back. It "appears" to be connected after reboot but states "no internet". No other devices on the network are experiencing any issues.Here are some of the things I have tried, none of which solved the problem:I have restarted the router.I ran an ethernet cable to the route

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Step 1: Run the Internet Connections Troubleshooter

This troubleshooter is an automated Windows 10 inbuilt tool which finds and fixes the common issues with the Internet Connections on the computer. Perform these steps to run this tool and check if that helps.

• Press “Windows Logo” from the keyboard.
• Type “Troubleshooting” and press “Enter”.
• In the “Troubleshooting” window, click on “View All” on the left pane.
• Click on “Internet Connections”.
• Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Run as Administrator”.
• Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Step 2: Run the Network Adapter Troubleshooter

This troubleshooter is an automated Windows10 inbuilt tool which finds and fixes the common issues with the Network Adapter Settings on the computer. It also checks if the network adapter drivers are up to date or not. It may
also provide you some clue about the hardware failures happening to the Network Adapter. Perform these steps to run this tool and check if that helps.

• Press “Windows Logo” from the keyboard.
• Type “Troubleshooting” and press “Enter”.
• In the “Troubleshooting” window, click on “View All” on the left pane.
• Click on “Network Adapter”.
• Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Run as Administrator”.
• Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Once after running the troubleshooters, check troubleshooting reports and let’s know the details. You may also try out the suggestions given by the troubleshooter and check if that helps.

Are you encountering other network issues on your computer right now? It would be best to check for network connection issues since the error that you're receiving is related to network failure. You can do so by running the Network troubleshooter.

Here's how:

• Open Start, and then type Network troubleshooter.
• Select Identify and repair network problems.
• Follow the steps in the troubleshooter.

Should you find errors that the troubleshooter wasn't able to fix, refer to this
