Windows 10: Code: 0x80070032 installing Spotify from Microsoft Store

I am on Windows 11 2610.3671 and last week my Spotify application stopped working, so I uninstalled it and went to reinstall from the Microsoft Store.When I do this the application gets to 100% installing "almost done" then pops up the "There has been an error, see details" message. Expanding this shows: "Sorry about that! Something went wrong. We're aware of the issue and working to fix it. Try refreshing or come back later" with Code: 0x80070032.

Unable to install Spotify from Microsoft Store

• Are you able to install other apps from the Store?
  
• Do you see any error code/message on the installation failure?
  
• Were you using the app before or are you installing it for the first time?
  

If you’re installing Spotify for the first time, I suggest you to try the methods listed below and check if it works:

Method 1

Update Windows 10:

Windows 10 periodically checks for the latest updates and security features and installs them automatically to keep your device running smoothly and securely. Refer

Method 2

Run Windows Store Apps troubleshooter:

• Open Settings and choose Update & Security.
  
• On the left pane, click on Troubleshoot
  and choose Windows Store Apps.
  
• Allow the troubleshooter to run its course and try install the app again.
  

Method 3

Reset Store cache:

• Open Microsoft Store and sign out of the same.
  
• Press ‘Win + R’ keys on the keyboard together to open the run dialog box and type the following into the Run box:
  wsreset.exe
  
• Once the command is executed, sign in to the Microsoft Store and see if it works.
  

Method 4

At times, a corrupt user profile could also be an issue. If the above methods do not resolve the issue, you may want to
Create a new local user or administrator account and see
if the installation goes through.

If the issue persists, revert to us with the exact error code/message to troubleshoot accordingly.

Error code 0x80070032

We would like to clarify some information first for us to better understand your computer's performance issue. Kindly answer these questions:

• Where exactly are you seeing the 0x80070032 error code? Are you seeing it when you enter your password? We highly recommend posting a picture of the error here for us to further investigate the concern.
  
• Can you please tell us what you mean by "I have updated the fix"? What is the specific troubleshooting steps you've performed?
• What was the update that you're installing before encountering the issue? Were you able to install the update now?

 

Spotify

I have just discovered two Spotify entries in the StartUp list in Task Manager.
However there is no trace of Spotify elsewhere in the system.
I went through the registry and deleted every reference to Spotify that could find, although some refused to be deleted.
That made no difference.
The store shows that Spotify is installed. Which is strange.
However I found an entry in the Apps list in Start Menu, clicked uninstall and that cleared the problem.
