Windows 10: Co-Pilot Microphone Talk to Text.

I love Co-Pilot! I do a lot of typing for information from her. All that typing I have to do! Can I hit the microphone button, give her a story, and then get her to produce that story into text? So I can copy it. I have tried this, but it won't work. She keeps reading out what I've said. Yet when I log onto the internet and hit her icon and type a message to her. "Can I hit the microphone button and tell you a story and ask you to provide the text so I can copy it?" She says Absolutely. Please can someone help from Microsoft? From keyboard via Text-to-speech To Microphone Talk?


[table][tr][td] Hi All, Its me first post on your forum so I hope it is located in the right section. Due to my relative, living in same apartment going to sleep much earlier than me and not wanting to wake my relative up, I have to find a solution. I talk on microphone a lot but if I talk, my relative cannot sleep. However fortunately sound of key pressings on keyboard is not a problem so I am searching for solution for my Windows 10 system (pc/laptop). I would like to find a working, preferable free, software where could I type some text inside. After I press particular button, the text must be converted to speech. Then this speech must be further converted, via voip software (e.g. xlite, zoiper), to input sound of microphone. So whoever I am calling via voip phone connection could hear me talking but in reality I would be typing in the software I am asking for. It is important that text is ''sent'' to microphone (identical as my talk if i was talking) AFTER i press particular button so person talking with me wouldn't hear my voice while it is STILL BEING typed. How can I use talk to text in Win10? Is it possible?

I used the troubleshooter that you suggested under sound and it showed that my microphone was turned off in the privacy settings. I turned it on and now it is working! As a result, this is my very first post ever written by using voice dictation. One more question: there is a statement about making voice recognition better in the section I was referring to and gives the option of turning off permission if I didn't want to contribute voice clips. Does this mean that Google or Microsoft collects my dictations?

Hi, that's a new one. And I find I see exactly the same error with that Troubleshooting step- but Dictation works for me (on 2 different PCs, same build) I begin to suspect a bug there.. needs confirmation from others. Does your microphone work in any other context? What sort of microphone are you using? Have you tweaked your PC in any way e.g. modified services? Try Speech Recognition: been there since Windows Vista I think. From the huge searchable Tutorial section (have you had a look?) Start Speech Recognition in Windows 10 - there are numerous other linked tutorials - see the list after the main text. Not only does this support dictation quite fully, it also gives some control over your PC. There's a complete command reference sheet.
