  1. clear my pc of malware

No excuse, I'm in my mid-70's. I fell for a scam that someone was charging on one of my accounts. I gave them access to my pc. After I woke up I must have been in a coma and turned off my pc. On 2 occasions my pc displayed a message that it was updating and not to turn it off. I would turn it off. I changed my bank account password, credit card passwords and wifi password. I've run Malwarebytes. The messages have not appeared within the last week. I'm contemplating doing a factory reset and a fresh install of Windows 11. Is there anything else I should do?Presently, when I'm not di

  2. Clear Pagefile on Shutdown

I've been looking into clearing the pagefile, and I found the following steps at a somewhat dated webpage:
    1. In the registry editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
    2. Set ClearPageFileAtShutdown to the REG_DWORD value of 1.
    3. Restart Windows.
I'm just wondering whether those steps are still valid, and, if so, does clearing the pagefile work as advertised?

  3. PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??

I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:
