Cleaning TEMP folder vs running "Disk clean up"

Hi community, When running the %TEMP% command, the folder shows 100 GB, which I want to remove. When using the "Disk Clean up," barely any load is shown. I do not think the app contemplates the temp folder in itself. Is it safe to go into the TEMP folder and Shift+Del all? Thank you

    :)

    Hi Bradley,

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Disk Clean up. I will surely help you.

I suggest you to manually delete the temporary files.

Kindly follow the below mentioned steps to delete the temporary files:

    • Press Windows logo key + R
key to run Run Command, type %temp%, and hit
      Enter
      .
    • Delete all the files in the folder.
    • Go to C:/Windows/Prefetch and delete all the files except the
      ReadyBoot folder.
    • Go to C:/Windows/Temp and delete all the files.
    • Restart the computer, and now check the disk space.

We don't recommend you to delete any system default application.

Please write us back, if you still face difficulty with Disk Clean up. We will be happy to help.

    Thank you.

  3. disk clean up

Hmmm, Ok, try to run it from here:

    C:\Windows\System32\cleanmgr.exe

If that still stalls, go here:

    C:\Windows\Temp - ctrl + a and delete the contents.

C:\Users\YOURACCOUNT\App Data\Local\Temp (If AppData doesn’t display, go into control panel, file explorer options, and make sure show hidden files / folders is checked off”

These are 2 temp locations that disk clean up removes items from and will help clean up space.

    Let me know!
