Windows 10: Citrix ICA file not opening on Windows 11 Home

How do you actually open an ica file on Windows 11 home?, I tried looking for the file type by looking the app by file type on default apps but it isnt there, and when trying to open it the old way: right click on the file, then open with, and choosing always use this app to open this kind of files, the whole option is non existant as well. The file tries to open with internet explorer once I try to open it from edge.Edit: btw I already reinstalled CItrix twice, once from their website and once from the MS Store and on both situations this happens, the only way I can make it work is if I tell

Can I get Citrix to work?

Like so many of us, I need to use Citrix for work. I have a new Surface Pro. IE pulls up the website perfectly, but the work apps won't open because the Citrix "ica" file opens with WordPad.

When I try to associate it to anything different, by navigating to default apps, then "chose default app by file type", my only options are WordPad and "find an app in the App Store". Downloaded Citrix from the app store, and that doesn't show up in the
list of options - even after restart etc. Likewise, going to Citrix's site and downloading a Windows 10 compatible version of the software does not help either. Still WordPad, no matter whether I'm using IE, Edge, Firefox or Chrome.

Can anyone help?

Here is the correct way to change a file association:

1. Right-click on any .ica file and choose 'Open with ...' from the context menu

2. In "How do you want to open this file" click on Citrix Connection Manager.

3. Put a check mark in 'Always use this app to open .ica files' and click on OK.

If you don't see Citrix Connection Manager in the list of programs, click on 'More apps' and look there. If you still don't see Citrix Connection Manager, you will have to 'Browse' to the executable file that starts Citrix Connection Manager. If you need
help with the 'Browse' step - no problem: just ask.
