  1. ' checking for updates...' do not complete!

So it been almost 2 weeks that I can't go past the ' checking for updates' phase when updating Windows security. According to the app, I've last updated my security on August the fifteenth (15-8).

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond ' checking for updates...' do not complete! :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.

  3. Checking For Updates Doesn't Complete

Settings/Checking for Updates has been running continuously since sometime after I successfully installed KB4018314 (Update for Outlook 2010, 32 bit Edition) on 3/15/2018. Prior to that time Checking for Updates completed after a few minutes showing either
that there were no updates, or showing a list of updates ready for installation.

The computer is shut down every night. Yet when it is rebooted in the morning, Checking for Updates is still running.

My system is a Dell XPS-8900 with 24 GB RAM. The OS is Windows 10 Home, Version 1709, Build 16299.309.

Does anyone have a suggestion how to correct this situation? Thanks.

Overclocking / Undervolting guide for Vega 56 or 64?

    Here's a quick laundry list:

List of software to use for overclocking and testing
    Examples:
Wattman (and how to find and use it, like an overview, including profiles)
Unigine Valley or Heaven (use this for quick testing while changing settings in Wattman and checking for stability / artifacts) ...just suggesting this
How to monitor cores / mem speeds and temps during testing (I've seen screen overlays, and others using GPUz)

    Step-by step overclocking in Wattman
    Fan speeds
    Power limit
    Temp limit
    Voltages
    Core speeds
