Challenges with Disk Drives set up in the System as not operating according to identifier

For some time their have been challenges with disk drives as having been set up in the system "suddenly gong missing" and "not reappearing" on "reboot" and if "their were a reboot" the data content "would be lost". Thier're "five drives physically installed" in the system, "only two" are available. Here we looks at a sequence "of strange events" via the illustrations as included, what've "been pervading" throughout each install of disk drive, on times, rendering their access "impossible" and "in some instances" their identifiers "having become crossed with that" of other drives in the syste

Disk X has the same disk identifiers as one of my other disks

If you change the main drive ID it may not boot. If the other drive is the source drive you used to clone, I suggest you change the ID on that drive or even better, clean and reinitialize the drive. Open a CMD window as administrator and type: diskpart list disk (it will list all drives. Identify the SSD drive number) select disk n (replace n by the SSD drive number obtained with list disk) clean convert GPT create part primary select part 1 format fs=ntfs quick assign exit (to exit diskpart)

Remove spare hard disk as system disk

    Thank you for your reply.

There's a possibility that your HDD was detected as OS drive during the Windows installation. To remove your HDD as system disk, we suggest reformatting it. To do so, please follow the steps below:

    • Open Disk Management.
    • Right-click on your HDD, then select Format.
    • On the Format windows, type your preferred Volume label,
      File system (NTFS is recommended)
, Allocation unit size (leave as Default).
    • Check the Perform a quick format option, then click
      OK
      .

Note: Please back up your files before reformatting the drive.

Feel free to post back should you need further help.

Can't boot Windows 10, UEFI bootloader GPT partitioned system drive. Tried bootrec (Total identified Windows installations: 0)

Hi, I am trying to help a friend repair her son's computer so I don't have a lot of context as to what happened prior to this issue, but I will try to be as comprehensive as I can in describing what steps I've taken so far.

    Initial Observations

This is a Windows 10 PC, with a 2 TB disk. It is UEFI enabled and GPT partitioned. Computer boots up and immediately begins
Preparing Automatic Repair. The computer reboots without going to the Choose an option menu and boot-loops through this sequence.

    Method 1

    • F11 to force boot options menu
    • Boot into local disk recovery partition
    • Launch cmd prompt in recovery environment
    • Commands issued:
      • bootrec /fixboot
        • The operation completed successfully.
      • bootrec /rebuildbcd
        • OUTPUT: Total identified Windows installations: 0

    Method 2

    • Created recovery drive on my own Windows 10 PC
    • Booted problem PC with the recovery drive
    • Attempted startup repair multiple times (no luck)
    • Attempted bootrec commands again (no luck)

    Method 3

    I attempted the solution suggested
    HERE
. At step 5, I got this error:

    Path not found - C:\boot

So I changed the operations for steps 5 & 6 to target the system recovery volume on the disk:
