  1. CDPUserSvc high CPU usage (30%)

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem where a "service host" CdpUserSvc is utilizing about 30% of my cpu (it shows up in device manager). It causes my laptop's fan to constantly be on and waste the battery. I can stop/disable the process but it will no longer allow me to use the "your phone" app (which I highly use).

I reformatted the laptop (dell xps 13 9360) and it fixed the issue (that was 5 days ago), but today I turn on my PC and it is doing the same issue once more.

Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this issue?

Thank you everyone for the help!

    CDPUserSvc using high CPU

Since 1 week I have been observing that my battery is draining higher and battery getting hot. After observing found that CDPUserSvc is using around 30% CPU. I think it is because of recent window updates. I tried uninstalling recent updates but no changes. I tried disabling CDPUserSvc using registry and found that the CPU usage decreased but I can't use my task view. Whenever I click task view, the window gets refreshed kind of restarting explorer.exe

Tried isolating the process y running a few commands in Command Prompt

    - Nothing happens

Tried Create a .bat file to stop the Cdpusersvc service

    - CDPUsersvc get disabled(it's type value changes ). CDPUsersvc_xxxxxxxx is not seen in registery. Task view is still not working

    Any Solution please.

    CDPUserSvc using high CPU

Sorry, I don't have a fix for your high cpu usage from CDPUserSvc *Sad

AFAIK ... this is by design as MS is using the CDPUserSvc for the Task View / Timeline and as you found out, disabling it breaks Task View / Timeline. I'm using Win10 Home -1803 (17134.191) and if I disable CDPUserSvc my Taskview / Timeline breaks and I see the same thing as you're seeing.

IIRC .... When the CDPUserSvc is disabled, you won't see a CDPUserSvc_xxx in the registry
