  1. Cant open ppt from One-drive

Hello, I am having troubles opening a ppt file which was saved on my one-drive folder. I have tried every possible method, that I can think of, to recover the contents and cant recover it. when I try to open it online it forces me to use powerpoint on desktop to open it to recover it. Thereafter, desktop version wants me to repair it, and it fails and ask me to try on web instead. I tried making a copy, and it still doesn't recover and prompt says it cant read the file. I have tried the unblock solution from properties, but still doesn't work. I really need the content of that file, I would

How to make blank ppt slides default

No - unless I'm missing something.
    • Your first URL directs me to a course teaser that shows how to ADD blank slides, The user still needs to delete the first and subsequent templates.
    • The second URL tries to sell me "Grammerly"
PPT appears to use the term "design themes" when discussing defaults or saved options. I've followed the suggestions and did searches but still cannot find a solution to my preferences.

PPT - How to open a PPT file in the last version I saved it as, and not open up and display the newer version I saved.

    Hello,

I have been struggling with this for a while now, and I can't find any help for it online. The 'Save As' function on PPT has changed, and it is causing me extra work when I try to edit my PPTs. Please see below as I describe the issue.

    Old Process

The process I used to follow for editing and saving a PPT in different versions is as follows:

    1. Create a PPT

    2. Save it as version 1 on my desktop.

    3. Open and edit version 1 at a later date.

    4. Save the edited file as version 2 on my desktop.

    5. Open and edit version 2 at a later date.

    6. Save the edited file as version 3 on my desktop.

    5. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until I had my finished PPT.

    6. If I want to view a pervious version, then I would open the file. The older version would then open up for my review.

    Problem

When trying to follow my old process, I get a problem.

    1. Create a PPT

    2. Save it as version 1 on my desktop. (see attached 1st image)

    3. Open and edit it at a later date.

    4. Save the edited file as version 2 on my desktop. (see attached 2nd image)

    5. However, now if I open version 1, then it does not display the last save I had on version 1. Rather, it shows the changes I saved as version 2. (see attached 3rd image)

    6. Because of this, I have to open the version history, click on the previous version to see version 1. (see attached 4th image)

PPT then suggests I have to save my version 1 'as a separate file.' And I don't want to save it as a separate file because I want the file saved as version 1, not something else.

I really don't like this because I now have to remember that whenever I want to open an older version of a PPT file on my desktop, I now have to always open the version history, and open up a separate file to see the last save I made on that version.

    Help

So, I guess what I need is the ability to open a PPT so that it will automatically display the file as the last time I saved it in that version. I don't want it to display the changes I made to it and saved as a different version. So, what I am thinking is I need some way to remove PPT's version history function. Is that possible?

    Why this matters to me

As you can see from my screenshots, I like absolute control over the saving function which is why I also turned off the AutoSave feature.
