Windows 10: Can't install the latest version of Nvidia driver

I've been struggling with this error message after downloading a recent version for my RTX 3050. I quite didn't understand what's the reason over this, or maybe if it's considered a blocking installation, then that could be the solution until I would appreciate a lot if you people help me solving this issue totallyI've looked up some forums from 1 year or 2 years ago, and they did not work wellHere's my specs:Intel Core i7 12th genWindows 10 Pro 64-bit16gb ram

I didn't mention that nVidia's driver search offers 456.71 for the GT730, as you post. I checked that first.

I also checked the supported devices list.

I recognize the inconsistency. That's why I qualified my post. I can't recall a specific example, but I'm fairly sure that the nVidia servers have offered drivers in the past that were no longer supported on old cards. I have no direct knowledge whether that may be true here.

I'm unsure as to what drivers Windows Update provides for newer cards. I imagine they're newer than 388.13. That strongly suggests that the GT730 is not supported by recent drivers.

I suggest that "bug67" try the older drivers. If those work, that would suggest that there is no hardware issue.

If "bug67" wants the latest drivers, but the GT730 isn't supported, it may be possible to modify the installer to accept it. (Need a hobby?)

 

Nvidia Graphics Driver Not Compatible With This Version of Windows - Error

PC Specs:

• Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-Bit (Version 22H2) - I have the latest version installed
  
• Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ
  
• GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M
  

I was having some problems running some games on my GPU so tried uninstalling and reinstalling the graphic drivers from Device manager.

But as soon as I uninstalled it, I could not install it again as it was showing this error "Nvidia Graphics Driver Not Compatible With This Version of Windows".

The error was the same even when I downloaded the specific version and tried to install the driver from Nvidia website.

It's not even showing up in my device manager anymore.

Any help/suggestion is much appreciated.

Can't install Latest Nvidia Driver

Hi,

I'm having a problem installing the latest nvidia driver (456.71) on a clean install of Windows.

System specs are:

• Dell Precision T1600
• Windows 10 x64 version 2004 (build 19041.572) All updates applied.
• CPU: Intel Xeon E31270 @ 3.4 GHz
• 16 GB DDR3 RAM
• Nvidia GeForce GT 730 (Windows installed driver version 388.13)

I downloaded the driver from Nvidia and double clicked to launch. While doing a system compatibility check, I receive the message, "NVIDIA installer cannot continue. This NVIDIA is not compatible with this version of Windows. The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware."

• I have tried unininstalling the windows installed nvidia drivers using DDU in Safe Mode as outlined here:

I was NOT connected to any networks when I then tried to install the new driver.

• I also tried modifying the nvaci.inf file as described in this video:

The problem with that was, I could only modify the very first line the video told me to. All the following lines to be modified did not exist.

So, I'm at a loss. It would be really nice to have this old machine completely up to date. Thanks in advance for any help.
