Windows 10: Cant Install KB5029351 Update

Dear MS Team,I cant install the KB5029351 Update. In Update History, it shows error code: 0X800f0922I have tried several things to resolve the issue:https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/kb5029351-update-fail-0x800f0991/2c76d622-3a1b-420e-8215-8dda65209fa8following these information, I can not run this command: Dism /Online /Cleanup-image /StartComponentCleanup I have also tried to perform an in place upgrade but doing this via media creation tool and usb, it says: Sorry, we're having trouble determining if your PC can run Windows 11. **This fix is for the file explorer crashing after Windows Update 5029351.

Anyone experiencing file explorer crashes on KB5029351 can fix with it temporarily with these easy steps:

1. Open Powershell as admin
   
2. Set-service -name wsearch -startuptype disabled
   
3. Restart
   

Your file explorer, Outlook, Teams and OneDrive should start working again.

 

KB5029351 update fail 0x800f0991

Whenever I try to update Windows to build KB5029351, either through Windows Update or through Windows catalog, the update fails with a fail number: 0x800f0991. How can I update the computer?

I use:

• Windows 11 22H2, KB5029263
  
• Intel i7-8700

Microsoft has begun implementing and releasing Optional preview updates that are typically released on the 3rd or 4th week of every month. These updates allow admins to test the patch before its mandatory launch on Patch Tuesday (2nd week of the month). If you are not experiencing any issues with your system, there is no need to install the preview update.

Open Windows Update settings > Update history

Click Uninstall updates

Find the KB5029351 update in the list then click Uninstall

Please try to use the “Show or Hide Updates” troubleshooter to hide the problematic update. Window Update won’t install hidden drivers or updates. Run the troubleshooter then please try to hide KB5029351 update that will show in the list. You may try restarting your pc if it helps.
