Windows 10: Can't install HEIF image extensions and Realtek audio control

Windows installed HEIF image extensions and realtek audio control to a different drive rather than the C drive. I removed this drive.

Now I am not able to install HEIF image extensions and realtek audio control. The store says HEIF image extensions needs to be repaired, but repairing it gives error 0x803FB004. Realtek is uninstalled but when I try to install it, it gives error 0x80070003.


I've tried running sfc, wsreset, dism, and reinstalling windows. Nothing works. Microsoft support was unable to help, as they just told me to reinstall windows again.


I tried putting back in the drive, same error


How can I reinstall these programs to my C drive? I cannot install them whatsoever now.

High Efficiency Image File (HEIF) format is used for photos to keep down file sizes. It can also use the codes like HEVC to significantly improve file compression, while providing a netter image quality. I would request you to install the codecs:

HEIF Image Extensions and

HEVC Video Extensions from Device Manufacturer.

Would it be possible to install HEIF image extensions without internet? Can we download the app first from internet and then install it in other computer? Thanks a lot.

Heif Image Extension

Actually, I had not downloaded the hevc video extension, just the heif image extension. I later read that both were needed to view heic photos, but I was able to view them with just the heif extension until today. Not sure what the issue is. I am reluctant
to try the video extension because I read a lot of very negative reviews apart from the fact that they charge a nominal fee. I'll check out copytrans. Thanks again.
