Windows 10: Can't install any programs. "Another installation is in progress. you must complete that...

I have a brand new PC. I have only been able to install a few basic programs like Chrome and Steam, but I can't install any other programs because it thinks something is installing in the background. Even though I reboot and stay installing ASAP after reboot, the problem persists. I have tried installing a variety of programs, all give me the same error.What is going on?

Insurgency wont install and run for me....

I have played and have fully updated CS and Half life 2....
I am using the newest client and installed the SDK.

I am completely blown away, if i click the desktop icon it starts the sdk and then closes, and it doesn't show up in my game list...

First mod attempt install here, followed the directions step by step on the mods website...

Any ideas?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Windows 10 error message "Another Installation In Progress Please Complete Installation Before Continuing"

I tried the steps with the services.msc, and all of the options, start, stop, resume were grayed out.

All I did was do a reset on my laptop because it wouldn't allow me to connect to the internet, and I had on here was 1 program, serato dj, which worked perfectly. Now I can't install anything because it says Failed, and when I try again, it says installation
in progress. I went to the Installed programs to see about removing or repairing, and they are not listed. I tried the MS Installation Utility and it did not show the programs in it's list. I guess I'll do another reset and hope for the best. This laptop is
just a year old. Dell. Win 10 64bit
