  1. Can't find an audio device 0x8889000F error

I did an update and shutdown last night and now whenever I try to open a video file offline, there is an error message saying "can't find an audio device. make sure speaker or headphones are connected". The audio works fine on youtube or netflix. I have tried deleting the realtek audio driver from device manager in sounds and game controller and reinstalling it from hp website, but it did not work.My system specs are as following:HP envy x360 16ac0000windows 11 home 23h2intel ultra 7 155U 2.10GHz

  2. 0x8889000f USB Audio Codec Shows Up But Can't Be Used (Audio Device Not Found)

This is not a question but every thread on this subject neglected to address this issue and the threads are locked. Hoping this helps someone else.

Kept getting error 0x8889000f when switching to USB Audio Codec (Behringer USB Audio Interface). Would work when system reboots then would disconnect again. The problem started with newest Windows Update. Went in to Sound Devices to test and kept receiving prompt saying "This device is currently being used by another application."

Windows automatically changed USB Audio Codec to a communication device and set it as default in the system. This is why it would work for a short time then become unusable. To solve the problem I had to go into the USB Audio Codec's properties and remove compatibility mode. Then I set USB Audio Codec to system default and immediately set default back to my monitor. The phone icon next to USB Audio Codec disappeared and I then rebooted my PC.

So far everything is now working as it was pre-update.

  3. Loss of audio on AMD HDMi audio interface after waking up from Sleep mode.(0x8889000F)

I use a Sony TV with my PC, both Video and Audio signals go to it through Radeon R9 290X.

Problem is, after my PC wakes up from a sleep mode I lose all audio playback on my TV until full system reboot.

Troubleshooting doesn't help, it enables my on-board Realtek audio device, which doesn’t help. Sony TV is set as a default playback device, using "Test" function in Windows sound panel returns "device is in use" message.

Programs such as Foobar2000 return "Unrecoverable playback error: Unknown error code (0x8889000F)" error message. Firefox works without any sound playback, everything is mute.

I updated my drivers. Didn't help.

    Audio stuttering after wake

    Hi, ShimmyW

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Knowing that you have problems with your audio after waking up from sleep, you can try the following suggestions:

    1. Check for Hardware Conflicts:

    • Open Device Manager.
    • Expand the “System devices” category.
    • Look for any devices with yellow exclamation marks or error messages.
    • If you find any conflicts, try disabling or uninstalling the conflicting devices.
    2. Test with External Audio Device:

    • Connect an external audio device, such as headphones or speakers, to the computer.
    • If the audio stuttering persists, it suggests a problem with the Realtek audio device or its drivers.
    3. Disable Audio Enhancements:

    • Go to Control Panel > Sound.
    • Select the Realtek audio device as the playback device.
    • Click on the “Properties” button.
    • Go to the “Enhancements” tab.
    • Uncheck all the enhancement options.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Gigabyte support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or replace the audio device if necessary.

    Best Regards
