  1. Cant close many background processes that are eating away at my Ram

I bought an HP Omen laptop about 8 months ago, ever since july ive been having trouble with Ram usage in background, at the worst point there were so many background processes running that it was taking 60% of my ram. recently i went through and deleted, disabled, and turned a lot of things into Efficiency mode. but no matter how hard i try, i cant get my ram usage below 30%, and the processes using my ram seem official, stuff like "HP Command Center", or "Windows audio experience". Ive already scanned my computer with Windows Defender to make sure i dont have any viruses, and everything cam o

    Win-10 eating up ram ?...

I know there is a problem with Google chrome eating up all the ram on my Macs.

I think it is doing the same thing on my Win-10 computers.

As soon as I close Google chrome browser my ram usage drops back down to normal.

How can I print out the list of running processes ?

Edge won't close. Opens 15 or more background processes.

Hoping someone can assist with an Edge issue on a Toshiba laptop running Windows Home.

Edge has all of a sudden stopped launching. Following the direction on another thread on this amazing site, went into Task Manager and ended task on Edge. That worked .... once....

Now, Edge will open just the first time, but opens up 15-20 Edge background processes. If you try to close normally using upper right-hand corner, Edge won't close. You have to got into Task Manager each time. And when you do, again, it opens 15-20 Edge background processes

If this was another browser, I'd probably just install and reinstall, but that's not an option with Edge.

    Any suggestions?

Free Up RAM From Background Tasks

Hi MyiDevice, yes minimizing the background processes and applications will free up more RAM and should make your system more responsive . . .

Turn off all unnecessary startup applications and processes:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager

    Click on the Startup Tab

See any non-essential items are listed there

If so, select and click 'Disable'

    Close Task Manager

Click your Start Button, type msconfig and hit Enter

When the System Configuration dialog opens, click on the Services Tab

Check the box marked 'Hide Microsoft Services'

In the remaining list, see any non-essential items are listed there, uncheck any you find

    Click Apply and OK

Turn off all unnecessary Background Apps

    Open the Settings App

Go to Privacy - Background Apps

Turn off any App you do not need running in the background

    Restart your PC
