Windows 10: Cannot View SOME .mov Thumbnails? A Possible Reason Why!

I've had certain .mov files that would not show a thumbnail, yet all other file types and other .mov files would.I've been through all the possible fixes, but none worked.Then I noticed that all of these .mov files were 3 seconds long. All were from my iPhone. It turns out that all were the 3 second movie recording of the LIVE still photo. So, after reviewing dozens of these files, I concluded that when I imported the images from my iPhone, it also included the 3 second video clip, which must differ from a regular .mov file. how to activate thumbnail in details view?

Hi ÖzgünÇiziltepe, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

It is possible to do that in the List view but not in the Details view. Start from the List view then press the Ctrl key then scroll one up to make it a bit bigger just until the thumbnails appear. Unfortunately, there's no way to enable it in the Details view. Your best bet would be to use Content view if you want to display thumbnails and file info at the same time. May I ask the reason why you want to enable it using the Details view?

 

MOV Thumbnails don't show

I can\t see any thumbnails for MOV files on my computer, I have Quicktime player installed and I have followed the below instructions posted by a mod in an earlier version of this question from another user. Neither of these things helped. Is there any other
advice on how to make Windows 10 show a thumbnail of these files?

The corrupted user profile does not function normally such as not launching Start menu, Cortana, Search bar, Store and other Windows applications. In such cases creating a new profile and checking for the same will help in identifying if the issue is
specific to a corrupted user profile.
