Windows 10: Cannot update AVC Encoder Video Etensions on Windows 11. Error: Somethings happened on our side

I have AVC Encoder Video Extension version 101.13.0 installed on two of my Windows 11 systems. The first one is a HP Notebook PC, and another one is a Desktop PC.Bot running latest version and updates of Windows 11 release version.Today on April 15, 2025, on both systems, Microsoft Store prompted me to install and update for AVC Encoder Video Extension.I proceed to update it. The update process start by downloading abot 1.52 MB of update file, start installing an end up with error read: Something happened on our end.I have tried to uninstall AVC Encoder Video Extension using Powershell command

Sadly it's true if you want VGA rez MPEG-4 is the only option.

AVC is very good at compressing black bands so if your video is widescreen, just encode it at QVGA rez. The resulting file size is the same (almost) as if you tried to encode in some non-standard rez like 320x160. And I'm not sure if AVC will play if it's not
in a supported resolution like QCIF, QVGA.

 

encoding video for 5800xm

having trouble converting videos to use on the 5800... i'm trying to convert quicktime movie trailers (hd 480p res) to mpeg4 avc files using nero recode (nero9). i can get it to work if i set the target width resolution to a maximum of 320, but as soon as
i try anything higher i get a error message saying something is wrong with it and i end up with playback of the audio only...

as far as i can understand i've set the avc profile to baseline in the encoder settings. i'm using about 600 kbps bitrate, and framerates under 30.

How to encode video for Nokia Asha 501 ?

Hi,

I recently purchased an Asha 501. After reading the manual I found that the phone can play



videos codecs like H.264/AVC, H.263, MPEG-4 & supports



audio codecs are MP4, AAC, AMR, MP3, M4A, AVI, 3GP, 3G2, MIDI



Video playback file formats: MP4, ASF, AVI, 3GP



On my PC I use Linux (Ubuntu 13.04) as my OS. Avidemux is a very popular video encoding tool available under Linux.



So I installed Avidemux and encoded a video with the following settings :



Video codec : mpeg4 AVC

Audio codec : mp3

Contailner :mp4

Resolution :320 x 240 (which is the phone's camera resolution)



After the encoding ended I transfered the file to the phone via bluetooth.



But when I try to play the file it says : "Something went wrong with playing this file"



I cant figure out what went went wrong.
