Windows 10: Cannot Enable Compact View

I am on a new HP Omen laptop not a tablet running Windows 11. When I open File Explorer with Details view selected, the items are widely spaced out, and a column exists for checkboxes. This indicates that Compact View is Disabled and Item Checkboxes are Enabled. I want to change these settings. However, when I navigate to the dropdown menu and choose to Enable Compact View or Disable Item Checkboxes, the layout does not change. A checkmark does appear indicating that Compact View is on, but the spacing is the same regardless. I have also tried enabling and disabling Compact View via the Adva

Can't enable "compact view" (Windows 11)

(Windows 11 on laptop. ) Suddenly, I can't enable "Compact View" in File Explorer. I've done everything possible, incl. making sure "View" settings are set to"Compact View" and making sure the box is checked in "Folder Options," but nothing changes. Do I need to make a registry change? If so, please provide instructions.

I extend laptop screen to second monitor by HDMI cable. When I disconnect the cable and "compact view"" doesn''t work anymore. When I connect again to HDMI cable, then""compact view"" work again. Please advise

I am using Windows 11 Pro now. I mean when I connect to the monitor, "compact view"" works; when I disconnect to the monitor, ""compact view"" not work.

I can create local account and the problem is solved. But I want to use that old microsolf account to see if we can fix the problem.
