  2. File Association Group Policy Not Applying

I am having some issue with a specific group policy not being applied. I am trying to set this

Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > File Explorer > Set a default associations configuration file

group policy for a golden image, however it never seems to actually run. The procedure I use to set it is: I set the defaults that I want, then I run

    dism /online /export-defaultappassociations:<path & filename>.xml

in an elevated powershell window, move the file to C:\ProgramData, and specify the file location in group policy.

Once that is complete, I go to test to see if it works. It does not. I have tried logging out, restarting, creating a new user account, resetting the defaults in settings, and replacing the OEMDefaultAssociations.xml file in System32.
The specific group policy never seems to run.

    Relevant Info:

Other group policies work fine and have no issues.

I ran a gpresult, and it does not report any issues.

The computer is not and has never been join to domain. (only local group policy exists)

  3. only files that end with the adm file extension can be added to this group policy

I am trying to install and configure admx file in a NEW OU

I have asked for extensions on this as its proving very difficult to added the admx on to the GPOM in an OU. The file was downloaded on to DOM02, extracted the files and places on to sysvol\domain\policy\.

Logged on to the Group policy management console, Created a new OU called Windows, new GPO in domain, called win10, right clicked to edit, in computer configuration, policy, admin task, add new, browse go
an error saying that "only files that end with the adm file extension can be added to this group policy". The same process was Done on FS01, and RDS, all came up with the same error.

After hours of research i was found that i could convert the files from ADMX - ADM, Installed the converter on FS01, converted the files, repeated the above process, but this didn't work.

As there were two versions of the windows10 admx templates, I installed the other earlier version and repeated the same process, still no luck.

    Help me Please

  4. Cannot create a file when that file already exists - error during Group Policy processing

Group Policy Editor does not recognise my Windows Script file

I have created a Windows Script file and saved it successfully with a CMD extension. The file is displayed in Windows Explorer but when I try to add it to the Logon option in Group Policy Editor the file is not listed? Other files in the same folder are
listed although some other files are also not displayed.

    Any advice appreciated.
